ABOUT THIS PIECE
Barn owls, though known for a certain shape and form, have such an incredible variety of colour in their plumage, and each dear face tells it’s own story with subtle differences in shape, colour and tender expression. This sweet creature captured my attention with her uniquely delicate facial markings, and intensity of wing feather colour.
The name of this piece was inspired by the poetry of Mary Oliver, who wrote many words about owls, their at once mysterious and wholly grounded nature, and connection to all facets of the web of life.
