Kind words from students
Gift of Confidence
“I am really glad that I took this course as a new year gift for myself. Natalie is a very good teacher, because even in an online class, she helped me understand and learn quite a lot about basics of sketching. I have never been into sketching, but thanks to Natalie I think I will be confident in sketching on my own too, just not there yet. Thank you Natalie!!”
— Swati
A deeply nourishing practice
“Engaging with DTW I recognise essential gifts which I received in the course, of self compassion, compassion for others. Sketching …both rather clumsy, great or ' ok' sketches pushed me beyond myself … to separate perhaps ego from the work, and so really see. The action of attempting each sketch becomes similar to a prayer … the act of seeking the healing between one's inner world and that glorious life beyond me. As a deeply nourishing practice Drawn to The Wild becomes a treasure and joy in my week ✨️ And I have a bundle of sketches, now very well loved. I will intend to sketch the world, alive”
— Merrill

Realistic wildlife drawing isn't about talent—it's about observation and practice. I'll show you exactly what to look for and how to translate what you see onto paper. Many of my most successful students began convinced they "couldn't draw a straight line."

Every lesson is designed with potential roadblocks in mind. I guide you through challenging areas step by step, and my detailed real-time demonstrations show you not just the successful marks, but how to recover from the less successful ones too. Truly, just a sketchbook and pencil to start. While I love sketching with a single coloured pencil, and I demonstrate the final lesson with a few coloured pencils, all techniques work beautifully with just graphite. I believe the magic lies in your practice, not your supplies. A graphite pencil, or a few inexpensive kids coloured pencils from the grocery store are perfect!

Absolutely not! If you can hold a pencil and have access to paper, this class is for your wild heart
