To hear yourself living
There is a quote I have been ruminating on for a while, as I start to work with more dedication towards a slower, more sustainable, present life.
“1 would like to spend the rest of my days in a place so silent, and working at a pace so slow, that I would be able to hear myself living.“
~ Elizabeth Gilbert
Magic held in a frame.
My work is a part of me, and I am a part of the wild ones I honour. I talk to them as I work. They talk back to me. They give me so much more than I can give them, but I will keep trying, keep holding their personhood in reverence.
The interconnection becomes ever more palpable, the slower and more deliberate, the stronger the desire to inspire and enact reciprocity.
What a gift, to hear yourself living. That is what I am working towards, a pace so slow I can hear myself living.
